Dirrty girl turns sophisticate!

This Dirrty girl is getting Back to Basics. Christina Aguilera kick-started her tour Down Under with rocking performance in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney. Despite her baby bump that had everyone speculating about whether she is pregnant, the pop princess did not let anything stop her from putting on a showstopper. She started her performance with the first single from her new album, Ain't No Other Man. Dressed in a white suit with a matching fedora, she grooved to the beats of the music (there was a full live band, including a four-piece horn section) and the applause of the crowds. Regular costume changes (10 in all), trapeze acts, fire throwing and stilt walking provided the crowd with a magnificent visual feast. She performed several of her biggest hits, including Dirrty, Beautiful and Fighter.Other songs included Candyman, Lady Marmalade, What a Girl Wants and the ballad Hurt. She also struck a poignant note when she performed Oh Mother, an anthem inspired by her family's battle with domestic violence, accompanied by a very graphic video. The polished performance of her Back to Basics tour is a far cry from her days of stringy black hair and leather chaps. "The sexuality coming forward on this record is more softened. It's more pin-up, tongue-in-cheek. It's playful," Aguilera said. But that doesn’t mean there is no flaunting! "I feel empowered when I express myself sexually. Any woman who's going to strongly express herself sexually, there's always a backlash," she said. "It's very important to me as a female to play upon sexuality and be very strong while incorporating that in my art and work." And her husband, Jordan Bratman, certainly doesn’t mind. In fact, he is a huge fan of her sexy shows. "My husband supports every pelvic thrust. He'll even ask me why I'm covering up and tell me to show it all off," she said.
