Wilson happy with his new movie

Troubled actor Owen Wilson, who recently attempted suicide, said he is very happy with his new movie, "The Darjeeling Limited", though he plays a man with suicidal tendencies. Wilson allegedly attempted to end his life by slashing his wrists in real life and his character in the movie has a deliberate motorcycle accident, reports contactmusic.com. Director Wes Anderson, who is also a good friend of the actor, said Wilson does not want the movie to be postponed even after his recent problems. Anderson said: "That's not what I want and not what Owen wants. Owen is very happy we're releasing it now." Roman Coppola, the co-writer of the movie, added: "There's the show business adage of the show must go on. We're all sympathetic about our friend's well being. I haven't spoken with him about this but I think he'd be very eager that the film be shown. He's proud of the work we did. "In terms of art and personal life echoing one another, that's the proper way to make a movie. I've been witness to a lot of movies that my dad (Francis Ford Coppola) did and it's very familiar to me that your personal life reflects the theme of the movie."
Rob Reiner, director of the hit flick "When Harry Met Sally", is lending his support to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton because he feels she is strongest contestant. Reiner will host a fundraising party for Clinton at his home for her 60th birthday. natctmusic.com quoted him as saying: "I've been around a long time in the political wars and I've been on the front lines of them. I'm interested in someone who can really manage those political waters. Every one of the Democratic candidates is strong, but Hillary is head and shoulders above the rest." Reiner had also campaigned for Al Gore in the 2000 presidential race.

Jessica Simpson's bikini launch

Jessica Simpson launched her own range of bikinis at the Mercedes Fashion Week. She is already into her own skin care range and a shoe and clothing line apart from a number of hair extension products. The singer-actress was personally involved in choosing the models to carry off her bikinis. They modelled Jessica`s skimpy two-piece sets and all-in-one swimsuit during Fashion Week. Jessica is also going to try her hand in the food industry. It is said that she is planning to open a chain of barbeque restaurants called 'Daisy Duke's'—named after her character from the film remake of the hit TV show The Dukes of Hazzard. Apart from the food, her restaurants plan to have another selling point—waitresses in tiny hot pants. The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Smash Box Studios Spring 2008 Collections, which is being scheduled in Culver City (California) between October 14 and 18, 2007, will be ‘greener’ with an added focus on sustainability, eco-friendly fashions and designers. The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week provided young designers an important platform to attract attention to their creations. They have created a new platform combining emotion, experience and aroused enthusiasm for new ideas on stylish, visionary design among its visitors.
