Courtney Love, the widow of rocker Kurt Cobain, has denied reports that German artiste Natascha Stellmach has ashes of the Niravana lead singer. She also insists the ashes were never stolen in the first place. The late rocker's ashes were reportedly taken from his widow's LA home in May, along with thousands of dollars' worth of jewellery Courtney claimed to be "suicidal" over the loss, saying at the time: "I can't believe anyone would take Kurt's ashes from me. They were all I had left of my husband. Now it feels like I have lost him all over again." Stellmach claimed to have "acquired" the ashes and threatened to smoke them as part of an art exhibition to "set free" the troubled genius. But Courtney's representative Alan Nierob has now retracted her previous comments, saying Cobain's remains "were never taken" and the story of the burglary had been "erroneously reported".
